Mr. Li delivers a speech during a Shantou University commencement ceremony
Upon invitation of Mr Li Ka-shing, renowned mathematician Professor Yau Shing-tung attends the Shantou University’s commencement ceremony as officiating guest. Professor Yau urges graduates to set their visions far when they encounter difficulties, if they want to achieve and contribute in their future careers.
Mr Li Ka-shing confers a doctoral degree to a medical graduate at the Shantou University’s commencement ceremony. This year’s commencement ceremony sees 2,100 students obtain their undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral degress, with about 750 parents attending.
Addressing graduates of the Shantou University (STU) at the university’s commencement ceremony, Mr Li Ka-shing, Honorary Chairman of the STU Council, urges the graduates not to imitate Mr Almost Good Enough who “has eyes but could not see, has ears but could not hear, and a brain that could neither function insightfully nor handle the complexity of reasoning”. He also urges the graduates to think, to feel, to seek, to care and to stand up for their beliefs.
