Launched by former Vice Premier Li Lanqing
and Fudan University alumni, the Fudan Premium Fund of Management
is mainland China’s first management scholarship fund. The mission
of the Fund is to reward and encourage people who have made outstanding
contributions to management in China and to promote the development
of science management.
Science management is a relatively new discipline in China. As
the Chinese economy has rapidly developed, the demand for management
professionals has increased. While China has embraced many advanced
management concepts and models from the West, China needs to adapt
these elements to complement its economic realities and to develop
its own modern management theories that can contribute to future
social and economic growth on the mainland.
A committee of Chinese and foreign management experts conduct an annual, national assessment. Areas assessed include science management, corporate management, public administration, and health administration. A major symposium is held before the assessment process to bring together management experts from all over the world to advance management theories and practices.
