The Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business
is a non-profit institution of higher learning jointly established
by the Li Ka Shing Foundation and Shantou University. The Cheung Kong
Graduate School of Business holds the unique position of being China's
first independent, freestanding and non-profit institution of
Higher Education offering degree and non-degree programs of management
education at the graduate level and above.
The foresight and wisdom of this action is to "seize the moment"
when China is undergoing a period of explosive and sustainable
economic growth by creating a world-class business school for China
with international recognition. Its mission is to develop world-class
business leaders for the greater Chinese region and to create knowledge
that advances management theories and practices. With the inauguration
of its first campus site in the heart of Beijing in 2002, the School
also established its strategic presence in Shanghai and Guangzhou,
centers of international business and financial activities. Following
the inception of its Executive Master of Business Administration
(EMBA) in November 2002, the School started its Executive Development
Programs in January 2003 offering a wide selection of open enrolment
as well as custom programs to senior executives representing a
wide spectrum of industries. After months of careful preparation,
the School debuted its full-time Ph.D. and MBA programs in English
in July and November 2003 on its campus in Shanghai. |
