Founded in 1985, Christian Action was the first voluntary agency to establish camp facilities for Vietnamese refugees. The scope of their services has changed over the years and they now provide community services, vocational training, children's recreational programs, and much more.
Hong Kong's unemployment rate soared in the aftermath of the Asian Financial Crisis in 1997. Mr. Li procured the support of the Hutchison Whampoa Group to help Christian Action launch "The Spirit of Hong Kong," a self-employment enterprise program designed to provide skills training and business know-how for the unemployed and people who wish to start their own small businesses.
