Speaking at the unveiling ceremony of the Li Ka Shing Institute of Health Sciences, Dr Li Ka-shing urges medical workers to be intuitive and empathetic, bringing relevance and courage in a time of weakness and vulnerability. Dr Li Ka-shing receives a paper fan with an inscription “Knowledge reshapes destiny, scientific research constructs people’s livelihood” from a group of medical students of CUHK. The Li Ka Shing Institute of Health Sciences is housed in the Li Ka Shing Medical Sciences Building at Prince of Wales Hospital.
   
Professor Dennis Lo was named an Outstanding Young Person in 2001. During the SARS outbreak in 2003, Professor Lo developed a quick and accurate test for the virus.
Professor Lo is a fan of Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. Professor Lo lives everyday as if it was his last, so that he would not delay his important work.
