FAQs
Q: When are proposals due?
A: Proposals are accepted throughout the year, but funding of new projects may be limited by ongoing commitments.
Q; Do you accept proposals year-round or just at the first of the year?
A: We accept proposals throughout the year. However, funding of new projects may be limited by ongoing commitments.
Q: How do I contact the Foundation for questions about proposals?
A: Those with inquiries may email us at general@lksf.org.
Q: How soon will a decision be made concerning funding?
A: We will acknowledge receipt of your proposal in writing. We receive a large number of requests, so please allow sufficient time to elapse before making any inquiries. If the Foundation is interested in your project, we will request a more detailed proposal.
Q: Any suggestions you can give me in developing a proposal?
A: As with any charitable organization, the Li Ka Shing Foundation can only focus on a limited number of program strategies. Before submitting a proposal, we strongly encourage you to visit our Web site at www.lksf.org to learn more about the types of programs we support and to carefully review our funding principles document.
Q: How many projects does the Foundation fund each year?
A: We don’t have a set number of projects we fund. We look at each proposal and choose the most worthwhile that fits our set of principles and mission.
Q: Once my proposal is accepted, what can I expect?
A: Once your proposal has been accepted, a formal Gift Agreement will be signed by both parties. The Gift Agreement will outline mutually agreed terms and conditions of the donation. The Foundation will retain the right to inspect, examine, and audit any physical properties, assets, current projects, and books and records pertaining to the use of donation funds. |
